From Raw Aluminum to Finished Product

The production process for each MGP caliper cover can include up to 10 steps and these are 8 key stages before they are ready to ship:

Depending on complexity and daily volume, the process takes between 5 to 10 days. Each cover is inspected and refined at every stage.

Forming, Engraving, and Welding: Precision at the Core

It starts with forming; raw aluminum is shaped to perfectly fit the brake calipers of your vehicle. The forming step requires the most precision: if the bend is off by even a small margin, the fitment can fail.

Engraving comes next. Whether it’s a licensed logo or custom text, each engraving is machine-calibrated and visually inspected to ensure crisp lines and sharp detail.

Each bracket is welded by hand, then fit-checked against detailed specifications. If it doesn’t meet specs, it’s redone.

Powder Coating: The Signature MGP Finish

Powder coating is what gives MGP caliper covers their bold, durable look. It’s not just for style; it’s engineered for performance.

Paint Fill & Curing: Where Detail Shines

Every engraved logo or design is paint-filled by hand, one cover at a time. Depending on the complexity of the logo or design each one can take 5 to 10 minutes.

Once filled, covers go onto a curing rack where they’re heat-treated to seal the design and prepare them for real-world use. Timing and temperature must be exact to prevent soft spots or defects.

Inspection & Packaging: The Final Layer of Care

When a cover passes inspection, it’s carefully wrapped, each one in its own protective bag, with bubble wrap and tight packing to prevent movement. Why so much care?
