That was the case at January’s Barrett-Jackson auction, where a custom 2021 Ford F-150 XLT, built by Chip Foose in collaboration with RealTruck, sold for $150,000 with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Progeria Research Foundation.

Progeria is an extremely rare genetic disorder that causes rapid aging in children. The condition is both fatal and incurable, but the Progeria Research Foundation (PRF) is working to change that. With recent breakthroughs on the horizon, every dollar raised helps fund clinical trials and genetic research that could significantly extend the lives of children living with the disease and potentially unlock new understandings about human aging itself.
Chip Foose’s Personal Connection to the Cause
Chip Foose is more than a legendary custom car designer; he’s also someone who knows the pain of Progeria firsthand. His sister passed away from the disease, and he’s used his platform ever since to raise awareness and funding for PRF.
