How to Order Custom Caliper Covers
MGP Caliper Covers has come a long way over the years from starting in a garage to running a large manufacturing program that now pushes out thousands of sets per month right here in the USA. It began with a handful of part numbers and standard sets with just the “MGP” engraving and then jumped as we set up official licenses with Ford, GM, Honda and others. Now we are proud to offer fully customized solutions for our awesome customers when they purchase through our website or call us directly.
Not only do we now offer custom caliper covers, but customers that purchase on our website at calipercovers.com or by calling us directly for their order receive FREE lifetime clip replacement to go along with the 3-year warranty. None of our distributors, vendors or our competitors offer lifetime clip replacement and we are excited to continue taking care of our customers well into the future!
Custom Colors for your Caliper Covers
There are so many options for your custom set of caliper covers including custom paint using a paint name/code or even custom paint match to your vehicle using your VIN to guarantee a perfect match.
We also have the standard colors of red, yellow, black and matte black along with optional powder coats with white, green, blue and even pink!
If that is not enough options for you, we also offer carbon fiber for the finish which is popular and has been selling well since we added it to the list of options.
Custom Engravings for your Caliper Covers
Not only do we offer completely custom paint options, but we also now have hundreds of new engravings to choose from on our website based on your vehicle.
We are officially licensed with Ford, GM, Honda, Acura, Mopar, Shelby and more so we have all the licensed engravings for makes, models and sub-models and stay up to date with the new logos each year.
On top of the licensed engravings, we also have a growing amount of MGP-Approved engravings to choose from with military engravings, batman, transformers, Stormtrooper and more! We continue to add to this list every month and are excited to continue providing more and more options for our customers.
If you cannot find what you want for the engraving on our site, you now have the option to upload an image or logo you would like engraved and we will make it happen for you. This is the ultimate custom engraving as our engineer will need to create, program and machine it from scratch. From time to time we get one that is a bit too detailed for our machines, but for the most part we can recreate whatever is uploaded or adjust it a bit to make it work.
If you would like to see a mockup of how it will look before you purchase that is completely fine since we do not accept returns on custom orders. Just email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with your vehicle info, color you would like, bolts or no bolts and the image or logo you would like engraved.
How to Order Custom Caliper Covers
Now that we have laid out all the options for your new set of custom caliper covers, it is only fair that we create a step by step guide to ordering custom caliper covers.
Step 1: Head on over to calipercovers.com (Wait, you are already there!)
Step 2: Enter your vehicle year, make, model and sub-model in the selector at the top of the page where it says “Start here: Find Your Caliper Covers” and then hit “Shop Now”
Step 3: Once all the options pop up, select “Click Here to Customize” or the red “Customize” button. It will be the first option that is showing and has the different colored caliper covers on it.
Step 4: The next page starts with a set of caliper covers displayed on the left and options 1 through 4 on the right (or underneath if you are on mobile)
This is where the fun begins!
Option 1 on your right is for the finish color of your caliper covers.
This is where you can decide if you want a standard color, optional powder coat, carbon fiber or a custom paint for your caliper covers.
You can access each of these options by clicking on the tabs that say “Standard” “Optional” “Graphics” or “Custom Color”
Standard paints are the four colors we are known for including red, black, matte black and yellow. Red is by far our most popular color and really makes wheels pop no matter what color your vehicle is.
Optional paints are there for those who are looking for something besides the standard colors, but not ready to take the plunge into a custom tri-coat, mettalic or carbon fiber. We continue to add more colors to this section as the demand increases.
Graphics covers carbon fiber at this point and we will be adding more throughout the rest of the year including potentially a new camo or another hydrofilm option.
Custom colors can be done in two ways. If you select “Custom Color” you have the option of entering your VIN to get an exact paint match or choose “Paint Name” where you can enter a paint name and paint code for your caliper covers. If you are not sure of the code just click the little question mark in red and it will direct you to PPGpaintit.com where you can get the exact code you need.
The Hex Value is there so that you can preview what your custom caliper covers will look like before you purchase. It is not going to be the exact color, but you can select the closest color to the custom paint name/code you entered above so you have a preview.
This is an important step if you select to use a custom paint name/code for your caliper covers becasue seeing something very close to what it will look like will provide an extra level of comfort and confidence placing your order.
***Important Note*** if you are looking for an EXACT paint match, you must enter in your VIN to ensure you get the correct color and it matches your vehicle. Your VIN can be found on your insurance card or at the lower driver side of your windshield on the inside of your vehicle.
Option 2 on your right allows you to add or remove bolts from your set of caliper covers.
If you want the engraving to be a bit larger then I suggest removing the bolts as it gives you more room for the engraving. (This is especially good when you are uploading an image for your engraving, more on that below)
Option 3 is where you get to choose your engraving whether it is a licensed engraving, MGP-Approved, a custom image/logo upload or text option.
Licensed engravings are preset based on your vehicle. (If you have a Ford Mustang GT, then all the Ford engravings will be here)
MGP-Approved Engravings offer more options for military and some other fun ones to choose from. We have stockpiled quite a few new engravings for this section and will be adding them on a weekly basis moving forward.
Uploading an image or logo for your engraving is one of the awesome new features we rolled out this year and makes for an awesome set of caliper covers. The best file type is a vector file or .png so our engineer trace it and program it to our machines. A large and high res file is best, but we have made things happen from pictures, screenshots and even a sketch that my daughter did for my custom set of caliper covers!
Text Option lets you type out what you would like on your caliper covers and you can even select a font that you think looks best.
***Important Note*** If you would like a different engraving for the fronts and rears, uncheck the check box directly below the tab that says “3. Choose Engraving”
Option 4 is where you can select the color you would like for your engraving to really make it pop.
We offer numerous engraving colors including the popular ones like black, white, blue and red.
